An easy-to-do card effect with multiple surprises and an engaging plot.
"This routine is brilliantly designed, with a structure that surprises at every step. It is a fantastic fusion of mentalism and visual card magic."- Bill Cheung"Steve Langston's "Free Thought" has it all: a devious method, multiple surprises, and an engaging plot. Plus, it's easy to do! This one's a winner. - Matt Baker "Free Thought is a brilliant effect based on principles we already know. But they are combined in a unique and genius way. This is a perfect closure for any closeup show, But even a perfect opener. This goes straight into my set list! - Rune Carlsen Free Thought is a real workhorse that can be used in any environment. The routine is practical, well-constructed and the special deck does most of the heavy lifting. The reset is also super quick making it perfect for strolling. It gets my highest recommendation! - Sean Ridgeway Illusions don't happen before our eyes, but rather in our minds.
Today, we're honored to present Free Thought by Steve Langston. The magician spreads a deck of cards and invites the audience to freely think of any card. Attempting to capture the memory from the spectator's mind, the magician selects a card, flips it over, and places it back into the deck. When the cards are spread again, the spectator's card seems to have vanished from the face-up spread, leaving the face-down card as the thought of one.
With a snap, the magician reveals that it is all an illusion. The face-down card turns out to be blank, and the entire deck becomes blank as well. The thought-of card was never in the deck-it has been elsewhere all along-perhaps in a wallet, under a mat, in a pocket, or even on the spectator's chair.
