Most mental magic asks you to be someone you're not: intense, mysterious, reading their energy or testing their intuition.
Giftism gives you something different. You get to be warm, playful, and completely yourself while revealing what someone is thinking in a way that feels like you're both in on the secret as it unfolds.
You show five cards with a "gift box" design, asking if they're the type of person who shakes their presents to figure out what's inside.
After choosing a gift from a list, they nostalgically shake each card, flipping each one over to see if it's inside. Sometimes it is, other times it isn't. It's playful and gets them laughing.
Now comes the shift. After they've shaken all five "gift boxes", you say that the reason you asked is because you're actually pretty good at this yourself.
You take the cards and shake them near your ear. You start describing what you hear. Something metallic jingling. Fabric moving. An... animal sound? You're working through the details in real time.
When you look up, their expression has completely changed, because you've been describing exactly what they chose, and they can see you know before ever naming it out loud!
This is the magic you create with Giftism. A moment of shared wonder that feels effortless, genuine, and too good to be true.

What Magicians Are Saying"What I like about Giftism is how everything has meaning behind it. Every part has a reason, and the method disappears because you're caught up in the fun of it. It's an actual worker and resets fast, which matters when you're working tables night after night. I've played it for people young and old, and everyone enjoys it. It really pulls them in."-
Lewis Chaney, Cultural Connection Wizard"Giftism gave me something fresh to perform that really connects with people. Everyone I showed it to had fun and walked away smiling. I liked how it let me play around and add a bit of acting to each reveal. It's the kind of routine that keeps things engaging for both me and the audience."-
Kevin Smith, BlackSmith Magic"I brought Giftism to work and ended up performing it for about eleven people in two days. Every reaction was strong. What I love most is that it's repeatable. I performed it six or seven times for the same person and she was still impressed! The method feels natural, not like you're doing math, so I can just focus on performing and enjoy the moment when the magic happens."-
Kaden Hoefs, Strolling Magician"I've been performing Giftism for different age ranges and it's been really fun. The personal angle with the gift shaking story makes it feel real and keeps them engaged from start to finish."-
Topher Sutton, Family Magician"I performed Giftism during a show last week and it just clicked. The pacing, the reactions, everything felt right. Since then, it's become something I carry with me because it fits any moment when someone wants to see something special."-
Kevin Rosewood, Parlor Magician"Giftism's become my pre-show go-to. It connects because everyone relates to the idea of shaking a gift and trying to get a sense of what's inside. I've done it for kids, families, adults, and it plays well each time. With just a few cards I get great reactions that feel like real magic!"-
Michael Ianneo, Children's Magician"I had early access to test Giftism before its release, and I've been working with it for close to a year. It's fun and engaging, and it brings that nostalgia factor you see in the best Deuce Gala products.
The method is completely hidden in the design and presentation, and even though it relies on a known principle, this is my favorite way to use it because everything makes sense. It feels right, it flows, and you don't even need to see anything happening to know what they're thinking. But more than that, it creates a connection and gives you and your participant something to experience together."-
Chris Edwards, Magic Reviewer"I've been using Giftism in my strolling sets for a couple months, and it's been a joy to work with. It creates instant connection, brings a warm sense of nostalgia, and gets strong reactions. The method uses a classic mentalism principle, but the gift shaking presentation makes it relatable because everyone has given or received gifts. That shared experience pulls people in.
The last phase is my favorite. I've had guests gasp when I reveal their thought-of gift. It's a solid way to build rapport, get laughs, or create meaningful conversation. I highly recommend it."-
Jeremiah Jackson, Jeremiah Knows All Entertainment"Giftism begins with a tradition everyone is familiar with, so it gets them involved right away. The gift-shaking presentation is fun and refreshing, and many people don't even notice a trick is happening because they're caught up in the experience.
I really enjoy how much room there is for improv during the reveal, and how afterward, it's very easy to open up interesting conversation by talking about the gift they had in mind."-

Frequently Asked QuestionsWho is Giftism For?Giftism is ideal for performers who work in real environments such as strolling, restaurants, casual shows, parlor, and family events. It fi ts magicians who want quick reset, repeatability, and interaction that doesn't feel heavy or procedural. It works across age ranges, so anyone who performs for mixed audiences can rely on it. It also appeals to performers who enjoy conversational moments, light acting, and routines that open space for audience involvement.
Does Giftism Require Sleight of Hand? No.
Giftism uses a simple mathematical principle that doesn't require anything beyond basic second-grade level counting. The audience never senses anything math related because they never deal with numbers. This lets you focus entirely on the presentation and the reveal.
What should I know about angles, repeatability, and reset?Giftism has no angle restrictions, so you can perform it in any direction without worrying about sightlines. It can be repeated for the same group without exposing the method. Reset takes only a moment, which makes it practical for strolling and back-to-back performances.
Can Giftism be performed from 20 feet away, blindfolded, with your back turned?Yes. It can be performed under those conditions, though this approach is only recommended for performers who have strong audience management skills and know how to choose the right spectator for the routine.
