This deck is a vibrant, exciting throwback to the classic schlock horror comics of the 1950s and '60s.
The Fusion Mosaic Phenomenon: Halloween Edition is a self-contained masterpiece of visual close-up mentalism, suitable for performers who appreciate clever method and striking design.
The Aesthetic: Retro Kitsch PerfectionThe deck arrives disguised as "Volume 3: Horror Originals," a lost collection of lurid, retro comic book covers by the fictional maestro Stefan Mararu.
This is not "horror" magic; it's an homage to the fun, lurid visual style of pulp comics. The tuck box is a collectible item, and the cards themselves are saturated with nostalgia, setting a dramatic, yet family-friendly, atmosphere for the impossible events that follow.
The Illusion: The Mosaic ClimaxThe effect is pure, eye-popping visual magic.
A spectator freely selects one image from a handful of cards and returns it to the deck. After the performer tries-and appears to fail-to find the card, setting aside nine individual comic covers, the climax hits:
Not only is the chosen image revealed to be the very first card in the deck, but the nine previously dismissed covers are turned around to reveal they visually combine into a seamless mosaic replica of the spectator's selection.
This optical impossibility is the jaw-dropping hallmark of the Fusion Mosaic Phenomenon.
The Frankenstein's Monster reveal and 'upright' mosaic cards, each a unique unconnected comic book cover.
The rotated mosaic cards, revealing the Frankie Fusion Mosaic.
The Method: Artful and AccessibleThe trick employs the highly streamlined and reliable FMPX system. Phill Smith's engineering means the effect is fully self-working and effortless to perform, allowing you to focus entirely on your presentation and the visual impact of the reveal.
- No Sleight of Hand: The illusion is entirely handled by the ingenious design.
- Five Unique Mosaics: The deck allows for repeatable performances with five distinct, powerful reveals.
- Self Working Design: The clever design of the card backs tells you not only the card they picked, but which cards make up the mosaic, and even where they need to be placed to build the image, all without anything being tipped to the spectator.
The Fusion Mosaic Phenomenon: Halloween Edition is a self-contained experience-a perfect, pulpy fusion of art, intrigue, and visual impossibility that's always fun and effortlessly exciting to execute.
